Iraqi Communist
leader meets Deputy Prime Minister
Comrade Hamid Majid Moussa, the Secretary
of the Central Committee of the Iraqi Communist Party, welcomed the Deputy
Prime Minister, Mr Ruz Nuri Shawis, at the party headquarters in Baghdad on 8
July 2014.
During the meeting they discussed the
developments in the political situation in Iraq and the next session of
parliament, as well as the need to provide a political climate conducive to the
constitutional steps.
The two sides agreed on the importance
of forming a national unity government of broad national representation to
overcome the current crisis. They also stressed the need for concerted efforts
to combat the scourge of terrorism.
They also discussed the relationship
between the central government and the Kurdistan region and ways to resolve existing
differences on the basis of the Constitution, so as to serve the interest of all
the constituents of the Iraqi people.
The meeting was also attended by
Comrade Hassan Akif, member of the political bureau of the Communist party.
